This scholarly catalogue documents an exhibition of religious work of art (paintings, drawings, sculpture, and art objects) from the famous Barbara Piasecka-Johnson Collection which was held at the Royal Castle in Warsaw in the summer of 1990. Ranging from the thirteenth to the twentieth centuries, the exhibition included works by Filippo Lippi, Mantegna, Raphael, Caravaggio and Zurbarán. A host of distinguished international art historians contributed essays on the works and biographical notes on the artists.
